Hawaii Underwater Metal Detector Service
Hawaii lost and found rings in the water, waikiki beach, the island of Oahu only!
Specializing in underwater metal detecting since 1979 (30 years +)
We are Hawaii's underwater metal detection service, on the island of Oahu, if you have lost a ring in the water at the beach or on the sand, we may be able to find it for you!
I will be stopping this service on Aug 22 2011
I will be starting back on May 1 2012 I will not be able to help you until I return to the USA
Any wedding band will cost $40.00 to show up (Waikiki), and $110.00 after we find it ($150 total).
A negotiable fee is required before I search for your item
If you dont know exactly where you lost the ring in the water, its $75.00* to show up and $75.00 if we find it, this buys you 1 hour of my time in the water (Waikiki- AlaMoana)
Some areas of Oahu are very long drives for me, and prices for that are made by quotes, ex: North Shore is $140.00 just to show. Kaneohe, Waimanalo and Kailua is $130.00 just to show. Sandy beach and Makapuu is $100.00
If this is your case, you may want to rent the detector from me.
METAL DETECTORS RENTALS
If you wish to do it yourself we can rent you an underwater metal detector, you will need to provide a $300.00 CASH deposit and be willing to pay $80 for 24 hours usage or $150.00 for 48 hours usage. In most circumstances I will be lenient on the return time as I have 2 rental units available. PDF Manual for the xl500 PDF manual for the tesoro sand shark
I have a strong high tech "smart" land detector available for rent, it is a bounty hunter discovery 2200 $60 for 24 hours, $110 for 48 hours with a $200 cash deposit, In most circumstances I will be lenient on the return time PDF manual here for the land detector
a total of $380 to start for a rental of an underwater detector
a total of $260 for the land - beach sand detector
If you break the cable of the detector, you will lose $100 of your deposit.
If you can not come up with a cash deposit, you will have to do a cash transfer via paypal, the transaction needs to be a "personal" one, it will be refunded back to you after the return of my detector. The rental is still a cash payment in advance. If any fees are associated with the paypal "deposit" the renter will pay the associated fees.

You do NOT want to tell anyone you lost a ring or item, keep that to yourself, some places on Oahu, you do not want to say you (we) will be doing metal detecting (state parks, military bases, private beaches - Koolina). Often times its the person you tell that will go in and find your ring or item and keep it (lifeguard or beach attendant or their friends). Hanauma bay searches must be done on a rental basis, I will give you details later. |
If you lost your ring or item in water over your head (more than 5 feet deep) or far offshore, and want to rent a metal detector, you will have to be able to scuba dive, or you may have to consider the item is totally lost
A negotiable fee is required before I search for your item
Being the best in the island it can take 2 minutes to 3 hours as long as you know where it is.
If you are dealing with a diamond ring or piece of jewelry it is best to be honest and fair with us, as dishonest and cheap people usually cause problems.
We ask that you offer at least $200 if the value of the item is $500
A ring with a 1/4 carat diamond usually is $200.00 a 1/2 carat engagement ring will usually run $300 to $525 ........once your item goes past $3000.00 its a good idea to offer 10% of the value
Please note, I DO NOT want your rings or jewelry, I prefer to have cash and return your item, we both walk away happy and my Karma wont kill me.
We also can find dentures, glasses, some chains, bracelets, watches

I will ask you these questions, please have the answers ready! Do you know exactly where the ring is? and do you know exactly when it fell off? Is it over your head depth? Can you touch bottom? What time of day was it lost? Do you have exact landmarks, pictures? Was the bottom sandy, or rocky? Can you put me on a spot the area the size of 2 parking spaces for 2 cars? If you dont know exactly where you lost the ring in the water, its $75.00 to show up and $75.00 if we find it, for a plain wedding band, this buys you 1 hour of my time in the water. If you say "its out there" $75 to start! |

We are always called by the Outrigger Canoe Club when any member loses a valuable item
We have also been called by the Royal Hawaiian Hotel's and the Halekulani concierge desk to recover a guests lost ring.
We found this
ring and returned it for the $500 reward, it sat in the water for 10 days before
the owners contacted me. They were contacted by someone claiming to be
"the best in the island" he could not find it. 2 other guys also
tried to find it, they were amateurs. I have been metal detecting since
1979
